Thailand delays reopening of entertainment venues to Jan. 15

BANGKOK (AP) — Thailand on Friday stated it will delay the reopening of nightlife leisure venues to Jan. 15 regardless of pleas from the trade to make it sooner. 

A spokesman for the federal government’s COVID-19 administration cited issues about air flow and inefficient prevention measures in pubs, bars and karaoke joints. 

“The consultants present their concern about reopening these locations due to the low air flow and the gang, which might be troublesome to manage,” stated Taweesin Visanuyotin, a spokesman for the Heart for COVID-19 State of affairs Administration. “We are going to enable the companies to reopen, however we’d begin testing in some areas first.”
