Arts center expanding dance offerings, hires new instructor

The Darien Arts Center, (DAC,) has announced the addition of Hip Hop instructor Brianna Gill as part of an expansion to the arts center’s dance program, which will take place in the arts center’s newly renovated Weatherstone Studio this fall. Gill joins the arts center’s dance program, which offers people who are ages 3-years-old through adults, the opportunity to train in one of the many dance spaces in Fairfield County, in Connecticut, and to participate in multiple performances throughout the year. DARIEN — Dance Instructor Brianna Gill has joined the Darien Arts Center as part of the center’s expansion of its dance program taking place this fall in the newly renovated Weatherstone Studio.

The dance program, which offers students from the age of 3 to adults, is an opportunity to train and participate in multiple performances throughout the year.

Gill, formerly a substitute teacher and a summer instructor, now joins as the center expands its dance program to include more hip hop classes. She is also a performer, choreographer and producer as part of the professional dance company Team Leggoo in Fairfield.

“I’m very eager for the coming year and excited to see what it brings,” Gill said.


Gill’s fall classes will include hip hop on Tuesdays for first to second grade from 4 to 4:45 p.m. and for third through fifth graders from 5 to 5:45 p.m. On Thursdays, High School Hip Hop will run from 4 to 5 p.m., and Middle School Hip Hop from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m.

The art center’s dance classes begin on Sept. 7. Classes include ballet, jazz, hip hop, Broadway dance, lyrical jazz, contemporary dance, Pointe and, new this year, boys ballet.
