When I was in New York for Fashion Week, Tommy Hilfiger invited me to their show and backstage area. To me the moment before the show is just as magical as what will happen later on the runway. You have some of the most talented people in one room – make-up artists, photographers, technicians, supermodels, sometimes the designer – and the room is bursting with excitement, tension and expectations. Knowing that it’s not something everyone will have the chance to experience, I tried to capture one of those full on Fashion Week experiences in this post. Hope you’re able to pick up on the energy that I experienced backstage and at the runway of Tommy Hilfiger in NY!
My personal highlight was watching the legendary Pat McGrath and her team work their makeup magic on supermodels like Jourdan Dunn and Hanne Gaby Odiele – some pretty canvases if you ask me! To perfectly suit the scuba materials and Ivy League influences, the beauty look of that day was surfer girl chic. It meant rose pink lips and cheeks, full yet controlled brows as focus point and a highlight on the cheekbones, cupid bow, and inner corner of the eye (and let me tell you: strategically placed highlighter is the best way to look fresh and awake – it’s like a hangover cure for the face!).
